A three-year-old child doesn't have much sense of ambition or aim. But Amita Pathak, daughter of producer Kumar Mangat, knew what she wanted to be at such a tender age.
When she was a kid, Amita saw the shooting of a film starring Madhuri Dixit and Mithun Chakraborty. The image of Madhuri and Mithun's fans scrambling for just an autograph of the two stars left an indelible impression on the fragile mind of the little girl. That instant she knew what she wanted to be – a star like Madhuri.
At first daddy dearest did not take Amita seriously when she told him what she wanted to be. She had to grow to a girl of eighteen to be taken seriously.
Having harboured the ambition of becoming an actress since childhood, Amita groomed herself for the job. She learnt acting from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Academy. She learnt dance from Shiamak Davar.
Since Mangat himself was into film production, Amita did odd jobs as an assistant on the sets of 'Omkara'.It was still a long time when daddy found the right script that Amita really wanted to act in. The film was 'Haal-e-Dil'.
