New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) In the quest to be successful, people are ignoring the simple pleasures of life. Marathi filmmaker Pramod Joshi is trying to convey this message in a light-hearted manner through his movie "Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein", which releases Friday. On the same day another fun filled movie "Bittoo Boss" will hit the screens.

"Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein" doesn't boast of too many well-known faces other than Anupam Kher, Sachin Khedekar and Mrinal Kulkarni, but it has a meaningful message to convey to the audiences.

To be released in Hindi and Marathi, Joshi has titled Hindi version as "Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein" and Marathi as "Kashaala Udyaachi Baat".

The movie tracks the journey of an IT professional (Sachin), who is a workoholic. He always craves for more and more and in his greed to be successful, he forgets to enoy life.

But his life changes when he meets an inspirational blind man (Anupam) who makes him realise the importance of living the life wholeheartedly.

"It is a very true to life story. We all are just running towards money and success these days. We are chasing a mirage, which leaves us unhappy and dissatisfied. There is no end to greed. This is what the film talks about in an entertaining manner and not in a preachy film," Anupam told IANS.

The small-budget film has been majorly shot in Pune and Mumbai.

Anupam plays a visually impaired individual, which was not a part of the original script. But it was Anupam, who at the last minute decided to alter his role, so that the film looks authentic and not preachy.

Interestingly, the glasses that the actor sports in the film were gifted to him by his friend and actor Boman Irani.

This is the first Hindi feature film for director Joshi, known for making Marathi films like "Raajkaaran" and "Tujhya-Majhyat".

Another film releasing alongside "Chhodo Kal Ki Baatein" is "Bittoo Boss". Directed by Supavitra Babul, it is the launchpad of Pulkit Samrat who has teamed up with Amita Pathak in it.

Bittoo Boss is a young charming, ingenious and a fun-filled wedding cameraman from Anandpur Sahib, a small town in Punjab, who takes pride in calling himself a "Sesky Video Shooter".

Bittoo believes in spreading happiness through his videoes that captures beautiful moments that one can rewind and keep enjoying for years.

He falls in love with an educated and strong-headed girl, who makes him realise the importance of financial stability. Smitten in love and bitten by the loved ones, he is compelled to take a shortcut to earn money.

Produced by Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak, the film found itself in censor trouble with tagline "Bittoo Sab Ki Lega" and the namesake song for its double innuendoes.

This is the first film to have got a Parental Guidance (PG) rating, though with cuts.

As the nation gets gripped by Indian Premier League (IPL) fever, it would be interesting to watch how these films brings audiences to theatres.
