Shah Rukh Khan's promotional strategy for his last film 'Raees' has landed him in a legal mess.
Thousands of his fans and followers had flocked at Vadodara railway station to get a glimpse of the actor who was traveling from Mumbai to Dehli in August Kranti Express- as a part of the promotional activity for his film 'Raees'.
SRK's train journey turned bitter for everyone when the hustle bustle at the station left many of them injured and resulted in the death of a man named Fahreed Khan Pathan on January 23. Fahreed had died due to a heart attack on the stop after being caught in the heavy commotion at the station.
As such, King Khan and the co-producer of 'Raees', Excel entertainment have been asked to record their statements in the case.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Railways) Tarun Barot told a news agency, "We have issued summons to Shah Rukh Khan and co-producer of the movie, Excel Entertainment, which had sought permission from the Railways for the film's promotion on a train. We have given to them 7 days time to file their statements." (sic)
The officer also informed that "Earlier too, we had sent summons to Excel officials. However, instead of appearing in person, they had sent their lawyers, which is not allowed. It is recommended that both the parties give their statements in person. If they do not comply, we will inform the court and take action as per its order." (sic)
