Shabana Azmi goes local

There are times when actors go out of their comfort zone just to prepare themselves up to the mark for their characters, to understand the role and to execute their part flawlessly. One such artist is Shabana Azmi.

Veteran actor who is working on her upcoming movie Chalk n Duster traveled by a local train in a jam packed compartment on an weekday afternoon to get the experience of her character who is a middle class teacher.

She traveled from Andheri to Virar with her entourage to encounter their pain and struggle. She also got into a candid chat with the daily travelers to learn about their day-to-day venture to reach work on time.

It was indeed a refreshing journey for the former National award winning actress.

Starcast of the movie includes actresses Juhi Chawla, Zarina Wahab, Divya Dutta in major roles along with Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Sameer Soni and Arya Babbar in pivotal roles.

Chalk n Duster is about teachers, the education system and the commercialization of the system in the country.
