Why Deepika Missed SRK's Grand Eid

Although Deepika was by Shah Rukh Khan's side consistently during the promotions of Chennai Express, she had to give this grand bash a miss. The day when all roads led to Mannat, this hard-working beauty was flying away to Milan for an ad shoot.

An insider close to the actor said "Deepika had a prior commitment to shoot for an ad in Milan. The shoot had been planned four months ago. Despite her keenness to attend Shah Rukh's party, it was always known that she wouldn't be able to make it. She had informed him about the same".

The trip couldn't be postponed because of her chock -block schedule as immediately after her return, Deepika needs to wrap up Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela and move on to the first schedule of Farah Khan's Happy New Year also co-starring SRK. She also has Homi Adajania's Finding Fanny Fernandes to shoot for.

"This is the only small window that Deepika saw in the middle of her cramped shooting schedule. So she couldn't have shifted it," adds the insider.

For the past few months, Deepika has remained busy with back-to-back shoots and promotions for films like Race 2 and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and now Chennai Express.

Before leaving for Milan, the actor followed a tradition she has always sworn by. Being an avid devotee of Lord Ganesha, she paid a visit to the Siddhivinayak Temple to take blessings from the shrine.
