Mohan Joshi Biography

About Mohan Joshi

Mohan Joshi is fed up of playing the bad guy. "The get-ups are the same, even the lines are the same," he grouses. In a desperate bid to break out of the mould, he's grabbed a Marathi film, Nat Samrat, based on a well-known play. Directed by Raj Dutt it has a "fabulous role" for the talented actor who's, not surprisingly, very excited about the fact that he's finally landed an opportunity to be good. It's a welcome change as are the roles in Ek Hindustani, Dil Churaya Aapne and Shivam. "In fact, in Shivam I'm doing comedy for the first time," he informs. Also in the pipeline is a Marathi play Jyana Tyana Tharwaich which again has him doing something "very different". "Earlier I had no choice but to do any and every role I was offered. But now that I've established myself I can afford to experiment knowing I won't land on the streets this time," he beams.
