Mumbai, Feb 16 (IANS) They carved a niche for themselves when they made 'Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro' in 1989 about the identity of Muslims in Mumbai.
Now actor Pavan Malhotra, who is back in the reckoning with his stellar performance in 'Black Friday', 'Jab We Met', 'My Name is Anthony Gonsalves' and Vishal Bharadwaj's short-film 'Blood Brothers', is all set to act in Saeed Mirza's new directorial venture 'Savdhaan Meri Jaan', earlier called 'Mahanagar'.
Says Pavan: 'It's a good role. I'd have happily done anything in a Saeed Mirza movie unless he was going out-and-out commercial, in which case I'd have asked for the script.'
But this is a Saeed Mirza kind of movie. 'It's the way he makes his films. I play a police officer. I'm very happy that he's directing a movie after so many years. Saeed was spending most of his time in Goa writing a book. In a way, we're both out of exile,' Pavan said.
