Bollywood delivered some of the most iconic films this year. While some succeeded in carving a niche, there were many that failed to cast its spell on the viewers. There were a few such films too that did hit hard among the audience but didn't get the deserved ratings to their credits. Here we bring you five such underrated films of 2016. Here it goes-
Filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar's crime thriller 'Wazir' had popular actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar. The film fared well at the box office and had an average ratings of 3 stars from the critics.
Hansal Mehta's 'Aligarh' had been loved by the audiences. The film was based on professor Srivanas Ramchandra who was a teacher at Aligarh University. He was sacked from the university due to his sexual orientation. The film had received appreciation from the viewers.
Anurag Kashyap's directorial film 'Raman Raghav' was based on a psychopathic serial killer Raman. The film starred Nawazuddin Siddique and Vicky Kushal in the lead roles and had an average ratings of 3 stars.
Director Pawan Kriplani's psychological thriller film 'Phobia' starred Radhika Apte in the lead role. The film revolves around a girl named Mehak who suffers from Agoraphobia. The film had an average ratings of 3.5 stars.
Nishikant Kamat's social thriller 'Madaari' had received applauds from the audiences. The film starred Irrfan Khan, Jimmy Shergi in lead roles and had an average rating of 2.5 stars.
