Happy Birthday Emraan Hashmi

Ace actor and Bollywood celebrity Emraan Hashmi celebrates his 34^th birthday on the 24^th of March. Hashmi was born to Anwar Hashmi and Meherahh Hashmi and happens to be a nephew of filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. Actress and director Pooja Bhatt, actor Rahul Bhatt and actress Alia Bhatt are his cousins. Belonging to the complete filmy family, his entry to Bollywood wasn't a staggering task at all.

Hashmi made his Bollywood debut with Uncle Vikram Bhatt's thriller Footpath. The film didn't do that well but his performance was well appreciated. His second film Murder changed the graph of his career as it emerged to become one of the most successful films of 2004. He later starred in a number of commercially successful films like Zeher, Kalyug, Gangster, Jannat, Raaz- The Mystery Continues, Tum Mile, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Murder 2, The Dirty Picture, Jannat 2 and Shanghai.

 

The majority of films he has worked on till date were major successes and under the production of Vishesh Films. However, critics labeled him as a "one note actor" due to his repetitive roles in films for which he even garnered the "serial kisser" title due to his early characters. Despite of such labels and tags, he has succeeded to emerge as an established actor. His enactment in Gangster, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, The Dirty Picture and Shanghai has earned him Filmfare nominations and much acclaim and respect from audiences and critics alike. Though he has not won any awards yet, we hope to see him in a film that gains him some prestigious awards for his commendable acting.

This year is scheduled to be a good one for Emraan. He will soon be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj and Ekta Kapoor's Ek Thi Daayan, which is slotted to release on April 18th. His next venture will be Ghanchakkar, opposite Vidya Balan and tentatively scheduled to release in June 2013. And finally, he will be seen in Feroz Nadiadwala's Power and Karan Johar's Unglee in the latter half of the year. Also, Hashmi is all set to make his Hollywood debut in the near future with the next film by filmmaker Danis Tanovic, of No Man's Land fame. While not much is known about this venture, Hashmi has already started working for the role and it is projected to release in 2014.

Moving to his personal front, Emraan is married to his long-time girlfriend Parveen Sahani and has a son Ayaan, who was born in 2010. With a perfect family and an equally perfect career, Emraan is surely one lucky guy! While he's been given numerous Casanova-esque tags for his roles, he is quite the opposite in real life with a squeaky clean record and a drama free life!
