B-town is currently on an overdrive, buzzing about the upcoming release of Sriram Raghavan's
Agent Vinod. However, according to superstar
Saif Ali Khan, who plays the lead in this action-packed flick, the journey has only just begun!
Reportedly, Saif
has no intentions of sticking solely to the big screen - this 'agent'
intends to spread his action over a 90-page graphic novel prior to the
movie's theatrical release.
We hear
that Saif, who is an avid reader and a huge fan of

graphic novels,
quickly embraced the idea for the character to star in it's own novel.
However, unlike those series that are often launched solely as
promotional ventures, his book will hold onto full potential for an
independent sale as the script does not enslave the plot from it's
movie.
Fans will be pleased to know that the comic titled
The Jungfrau Encounter,
will give insight to
Agent Vinod's introduction and a head start to the
on-screen story before one goes strolling into the cinemas to purchase
the popcorn. Audiences, however, have been warned to refrain from
mistaking this novel as a prequel to the film itself, regardless of the
novel-ending, warming it's fans to the actual movie.
Director
Raghavan encourages the start of this great journey into other markets,
and hopes to elaborate
Agent Vinod's character beyond the movie by
continuing with a popular fiction series that would parallel the film's
franchise.
Saif is aware that his flick isn't
the traditional art-house or serial superhero graphic novel, and it's
affiliation to a mainstream Bollywood film cannot be denied either.
Hence, the team working on the novel have implemented strategies in
order to generate curiosities to audiences globally. Keeping in mind
that graphic novels are expensive and are typically sold within the
range of Rs.500-Rs.600, publisher Paul Vinay Kumar has not compromised
quality and still offers the novel at a competitive price!
So
are you ready to take part in the action? Four mysterious strangers due
to meet in the high Swiss Alps and plan on how to get even with a
so-called Indian Agent, is precisely where this story begins!
You can find out more by purchasing a copy of The Jungfrau Encounter
which will be available for Rs. 295 in full-colour, with the lettering
done by London-based designer, Viraj Deo. It will also include a dossier
featuring development art, a mock-RAW assessment report and an
exclusive look into its creative process. Copies will also be sold on
Amazon, and the team has their fingers crossed for big online sales.
Meanwhile, Saif recently bared his wounds to reveal how difficult the past few months had been for him. He has described
Agent Vinod as
one of the most challenging films he's ever done. However, not only did
he enjoy every minute of the film making process, but also claims to
miss some of his actions scenes already. He hopes for
success following the release of his joint venture this week and
believes this to be the beginning of a highly potential character. On
the other hand, he states he has no plans of rushing into a sequel as
most filmmakers nowadays do - he intends to take this journey one step
at a time.
This comic is the brainchild
of actor
Saif Ali Khan, so we can understand the hair-raising issues
he's facing right now, but time will reveal all, not long to go now!
BollyCurry
wishes Saif success with the release of his graphic novel 'The Jungfrau
Encounter', due to hit bookshelves this week, and movie 'Agent Vinod'
set to release on 23rd March.
