With cousin brother
Akshay Oberoi making his debut into Bollywood with Rajshri Production's
Isi Life Mein,
elder brother
Vivek Oberoi seemed to hold no excitement towards the
younger sibling's fresh foothold into the competitive industry.
It has been told that brothers never got along and always held cold
shoulders towards each other. Along with Vivek never acknowledging any
sort of

brotherhood with Akshay, he has not really lent a helping hand
to Akshay in his struggling stage with visits to producers' offices. A
noticeable fact had been Akshay's absence at Vivek's grand wedding. He
bailed himself out on the pretext of promotional trips, when fact is
that no such campaigns had been scheduled for that month. As if to do
away with wagging tongues, Akshay was however seen at the post wedding
reception party.
And strangely enough, since then, the petty estrangement
rumors have been quashed by the Oberoi brothers, who deny any kinsmen
cold wars at all; and most recently, Akshay invited Vivek to watch his
debut film released this week. He has also said that although the two
have not grown up together, with one residing in India and the other in
the US, they are still there for each other and do belong to one family,
with not a difference of hearts, but of ideologies and lifestyles.
Covering his tracks further, Akshay has claimed that the reason why
he had refused to acknowledge Vivek as his cousin was because he wanted
to cut a niche for himself without the shadow of his cousin's fame and
success looming over him. The newbie has also admitted to being a big
fan of his cousin brother Vivek.
Much ado about nothing, they say?! Not entirely convincing, but
here's wishing the brothers much success, each in their own lives!
