Old is gold, and who knows this
better than fashion industry where fashion designers invariably bring back
popular styles and designs of yesteryear every few years with a sprinkle of
their own spice. This is now also the case in Bollywood, where divas are showing
all their love for retro Hollywood fashion. The recent events held in Tinsel
Town have seen actresses and celebs donning dresses styled after fashion that
was in & hot a few decades ago. Elbow length sleeves, modest knee or ankle
length skirts, belted waists, laces and sheer fabrics lending modesty to
cleavages, demure necklines taking modesty up one more level, bold whimsical
colors; yes, the 70s' are definitely back in the wardrobe choices of our
beautiful ladies. BollyCurry takes a look at some of the recent retro comebacks
donned by the stars.
Nargis
Fakhri
This beautiful actress sported an
all-black ensemble from a high neck sheer-laced Burberry top to the knee length
flaring leather skirt from Zara at the launch event of Noble Faith. However,
what made this retro-look appealing to the eyes was the broad leather belt with
a gold buckle cinched at her waist. Very chic and very 70's indeed. The
Rockstar actress rocked it.

Priyanka
Chopra

Spotted at the promotional
event for her latest flick
Mary Kom, Priyanka was wearing a
Rachel Gilbert knee length dress in a shade of icy blue. The whimsical
translucent overlay in darker shades of blue, a very modest neckline alongside
elbow length sleeves lent it a complete yesteryear look. The cinch at the waist
gave an appearance of a slim belt in a very 70's fashion. Pairing up pure white
pump heels with the pale shades of the dress was a wise move. The up hairdo was
a cherry on the cake and PeeCee carried the retro look with prim elegance.

Malaika
Arora KhanWe were again transported to
70's with Diane von Furstenberg dress that Malaika wore for a launch event.
However, instead of bold colors, hers was glittering shade of gold. But with
kaftan style sleeves, clever knot at the waist and a plunging slim V-neckline -
the gown spoke for itself. A signature style which started in 70's, came back
in 90's and is now again turning heads in 2014. Of course the fact that it was
Mrs. Khan donning it, only added to its oomph factor.

Kangana
Ranaut
Here is one actress who is
always fashion forward, be it on screen or off screen. The
Queen star
appeared for the launch of Noble Faith in a Burberry rustic-red blouse with a deep
sweetheart neckline, a sheer collared and buttoned up full sleeved lace top
over it, which was paired with a form fitting calf length plain white skirt.
Apart from style, the solid color contrast of the ensemble was very reminiscent
of retro fashion. Even her classic geometrically correct white Dior bag was a
testament to Hollywood style of 70's.

Nimrat
Kaur
Beautiful
Lunchbox actress
Nimrat Kaur was seen in a Neeta Lulla design at the same movie's DVD launch.
Not only did her blue dress confirm the cut and nuances of a retro style, it
went a step ahead and was of a vibrant color that was a norm in 70's. Moreover,
it sported an overall bold floral print, which was so intrinsic of that decade.
The elegant hair do and the ruby red lip shade that the actress was wearing
only added to her loveliness and the authenticity of the era of her getup.
