Amidst
the sunshine from the South and snow all around, the New Year has
sashayed itself in style. So have the Bollywood dudes and beauts, who have
been sighted showing off their newest purchases and setting the
ground for this very happy New Year's vogue. BollyCurry brings to
you the chronicles of
Spotted to gauge from our celebs recent fashion
galore as to what this year is going to showcase in terms of style.
The
dhakdhak girl
has left the demure act behind and we welcome Begum Para with open
arms. But this woman, blessed with a smile to make even the angels shy,
sure had a "fevicol se" moment with her fashion sense it seems. A
pink-golden
lehenga choli from Jade, teamed up with jewelry from
Gehna
and side parted hair with soft curls completed Madhuri's look. You can
never say that Madhuri didn't look pretty, because she did, but same
old,
nothing new makes head turn a very few. The genre she belongs to makes
her the apt choice for myriad of looks, making all
seem her game and thus, we wish Madhuri pushes herself out of the
incessant
thirst for wedding attires everywhere.
BollyCurry Rating: 3/5At
the premiere of the much awaited movie
Dedh Ishqiya, the
parallel lead, Huma Quershi, took a leaf out of the film's
leading lady's book, Madhuri, and took upon herself to shine and how!
Dressed in a fuchsia
pink floor-length
anarkali by Manish Malhotra and a Victorian middle
parting tight curls for hairstyle, Huma had us at the candy store feel
for sure. The pretty actress did however keep the look simple and
didn't seem to be drowning in the yards of cloth, surely emitting
beauty but there's just something about these 'to wed or not to wed'
dresses that says passe for any kind of event. We will do a pass on it,
considering it an in-character look for Huma and wish her all the best!
BollyCurry Rating: 3/5 Ma dame knows her French thank you very much, and if it's mixed with Kalki's hippie style, what more can a
saree want from life? This
power house performer attended the premiere of
Dedh Ishiqya and walked
the red carpet like she owned it and that too in a good way, not taking
it to laundry, mind you! Dressed in a black motive cotton sari with an
artifact red printed blouse, a rebel drape, hair piled up, some silver hoops to swing and a
demure vertical black
bindi, Kaliki was unconventionally one of the best
dressed. Though you may feel the dress isn't much to talk about,
it's the radiance with which Kalki carries this attire, her confidence
in her stature and her 'I am what I am' attitude that makes you like it
all more.
BollyCurry Rating: 4.5/5 Happy
on her fortune to be romancing the
Dabangg Khan in her very first film
and definitely elated to not be named in reverse of what it is, or
Salman bhai may have had a rough deal in calling her,
Daisy Shah has
taken her baby steps into the contingent of fashion allies. Wearing
a jumpsuit by Anita Dongre, she visited the sets of
Comedy Nights with
Kapil. A Mehak Gupta statement necklace, black peep toes topped with
soft curls for hair style completed her Woman in Black attire. As simple
and apt in proportions this look seems on paper, it somehow misses a
punch line somewhere. She does present a pretty picture but maybe a
pulled back ponytail and a color pop would have made this a stellar
appearance. But there's always a next time!
BollyCurry Rating: 2.5/5Twinkle Jatin Khanna
Mrs.
Khiladi Kumar does seem to possess some Elvish blood in her veins with
her immortal beauty and style sense. At a dinner date with her "Amor
becomes me" hubby dearest
Akshay Kumar and friends, Tina was dressed to
the occasion in a simple black dress accessorizing it with a Kate Spade
graphic clutch and a statement cuff by Manish Arora for Amrapali.
Completing the attire with metallic golden wedges, low blow dry soft
curls and minimal make-up, Tina was a picture of poetic elegance, soft
and willowy. And if that is not enough for you to keep staring at her in
daze, do catch the biggest eye candy near her arm, the hubby!
BollyCurry Rating: 3/5 Mister follows where the Mrs. leads. Thus, making an entry like a Boss on the fashion circuit, Mr. Akshay Khiladi Kumar
does that to the T. If Twinkle was a sight to behold, Akshay was enough
to make your eyes go wide as well. Dressed to kill in an ash grey suit
sans the jacket that he carried on his arm, silver stripped tie, dress
shoes and a pair of avenging aviators, the man was a walking specimen of
some Mills and Boon dream! And when one does look so smoldering,
excuses can be made for the specs in the night as a precautionary
measure towards fainting female population.
BollyCurry Rating: 4.5/5The
Baadshah has
a quirk and it speaks on its own when this sexy daddy does a hippie in
formals. Mr. Khan was in attendance to inaugurate the Zee Cine Awards
2014 commencement, where he was spotted wearing a black suit with a
brazen grey/black jacket, formal shoes and a copious amount of wit that
he carries like a second skin. But what has been standing out in all his
appearances is the platinum gold highlight on one side of his hair. To a
formal look which oozes 'corporate meeting in 5 minutes', SRK's
undeniably uber aura of a prime male makes him look like an Alpha lion
out on the hunt with those highlights. We wish these genes keep passing
on and on.
BollyCurry Rating: 4/5 The Khan-dom could never stop at just one mention now can it! If Baadshah Khan has urban charm, Bollywood's eternal
Bhaijaan Salman
Khan has urban diligence. Salman's fashion mantra of 'I wear clothes
and not the other way round' comes out easily by his laid back and
comfort loving style sense. Gracing the epic comedy show
Comedy Nights with Kapil
with his presence, Salman seemed at his naughtiest best. Dressed in an
aquamarine T-shirt from his label of Being Human, paired with rigged
blue denim jeans and the ever dangling charm bracelet encircling his
wrist, he reflects ease, rouge and an equal amount of eccentricity in
his aura. He is effortless and though may dress down at certain events,
here he was occasion apt!
BollyCurry Rating: 4/5Beginnings
may seem uncertain but the length it will travel makes the results more
fruitful. Tinsel Town celebs have given us some visual foresight into
what may be this year's fashion headlines and we leave you to decide if
this is what we want from them. Do share your views regarding if the
B-town inhabitants have stood up to your expectations or failed in the
earliest.Writer: Nabila S.
