Hola, my sugarplums! How has life been treating you lately? It's been
hectic, you say? Oh, I can understand with this city and it's people and
vehicles buzzing around, up and down town all day and night! Nothing
new there, as they say. But nevermind! Today I'm here to tell about
events that I happened to be policing over the past week and the some of
the wardrobes that I had the fortune, or misfortune, of coming across -
downright hideous to absolutely heartstopping! Heartstopping reminds
me, I have to tell you about the Bachchan Bahu's absolutely glorious
avatar that I spotted at the Cannes, before I go ahead with anything
else.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who's a red-carpet regular at the Cannes and the
darling of the French paparazzi, decided to make a late appearance this
year. Well, she wasn't the only one representing India this year, what
with a large part of B-Town turning up to celebrate the 100 years of
Indian cinema, well, Aish could, of course, take it a li'l easy. After
much ado, when Aish did grace the red carpet, she left 'em all
breathless. Literally! Dressed in a gorgeous Ellie Saab haute couture
gown, Aish looked absolutely stunning. Dressed in black and beige
sequined lace, with minimal make-up and accessorised with a simple black
clutch and the subtle gold trinkets, Aish kept the bling low yet,
managed to charm all with her grace. While some keep blabbering about
her 'flab', I say cut that! She's a proud mother and doesn't hesitate to
display the fact. Rock on, Aish! BollyCurry rating: 5/5
Moving on, let's talk about the special screening of
Ishqk in Paris.
Yes, the very same venture by which our dearest, pretty Priety Zinta is
re-establishing her name amidst the regulars of B-Town. Here we spotted
the lead kid of the movie, who else but Rhehan Malliek himself. Yes,
yes, the dude with the naughty I-know-what-you're-thinking eyes. Dressed
in a dapper black blazer, pants and white shirt, Rhehan's look was
common, yet slick. Throw on the black tie and the ease with which he
carried himself and no one can beat that look. BollyCurry rating: 4.5/5
While at the screening, we also spotted
Mugdha Godse dressed in a
yellow and black curve-hugging Arpan Vohra dress. To say that the look
made me cringe, is an understatement! First off, there is no connection
between the combination except the colour black - which of was the
intention, we'd say was pretty lame. And while Yin-Yang is a choice we
say works for all, the pattern/theme of the top clearly looked like an
experiment gone wrong. My readers could give you much better advice I'd
say, Mugdha. No, dearies? BollyCurry rating: 1.5/5
Now let's head to the
D-Day first look launch. The first mister
we spotted here was none other than
Irrfan Khan. Dressed in sauve white
shirt and white blazer teamed with light gray pants, Irrfan was quite a
dapper sight, while keeping it simple. The beard and mustache, as
always, complement his face and the tousled hair adds its two cents. All
in all, perfect, I'd say! BollyCurry rating:4/5
Arjun Rampal, who's usually always a sight for sore eyes turned out
to be a grave disappointment for those seeking his pretty sight. As
opposed to Irrfan, Arjun went for a more casual look but one that was
more of a miss than a hit. Sporting a short white, cotton
kurta,
black pants and white sneakers, Arjun did not clearly ooze sauveness.
The flattened-down hair and the overgrown stubble didn't help either. A
tousled hair-do might've done the trick, I say.

So that was it from my end, lovelies! As always, do share your thoughts
on these lovely and not so lovely appearances. Until then, take care!
