Sticking thick through the protest against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, the members of Sarv Brahim Mahasabha penned a letter signed in blood to be sent to the Central Board of Film Certification. This was done in the light to stop the release of Padmavati as the film hurts the sentiments of the Rajputs.
The members of Sarv Brahim Mahasabha group gathered outside Raj Mandir cinema hall in Jaipur and protested against the release of Padmavati, claiming the signatures of 1000 members is taken on the letter in blood.
The members expressed that they will not tolerate the distortion of historical facts.
Earlier, members of the Rajput Karni Sena President Mahakaal Makrana threatened Deepika Padukone of hurting her for instigating the controversy with her comments ("It's absolutely appalling. Where have we reached as a nation? We have regressed," the actress had said).
Responding to Deepika, the president of Sri Rajput Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi said: "The country is not regressing, you are making it so. I beg Deepika not to insult women... Deepika is seen dancing with fewer clothes in the film. How are you trying to portray the Indian women?"
Kalvi also alleged that the movie was financed by the 'Underworld'.
Another leader Mahipal Singh Makrana of the Karni Sena warned Deepika, saying, "Rajputs never raise a hand on women but if need be, we will do to Deepika what Lakshman did to Shurpanakha. Despite being warned against instigating Laxman when the evil woman did not stop, even Laxman was forced to maim her by cutting off her nose".
Lokendra Singh Kalvi also called for a 'Bharat Bandh' on the day of the film's release i.e December 1. He said, "We will gather in lakhs, our ancestors wrote history with blood we will not let anyone blacken it".
