Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy with his team shooting for his upcoming film 'Padmavati' that stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. Work for the film was going on in full force until a tragic incident stuck the crew members.
Recently, a painter who was working on the sets of 'Padmavati', lost his life after falling from a height. While the work on the sets was restored soon, the mourning atmosphere continued to prevail. The workers union had demanded the production to help the family of the deceased with financial aid.
As promised, SLB did his bit for the family of the deceased artist. He signed a cheque of Rs. 20.80 Lakh. A few members of the production team handed over the cheque to the family. Three members of the production team met the deceased's wife and members of the 'cine workers' union. The colleagues of the deceased have also contributed a collective amount to his family.
A report on a portal quoted Gangeshwar Shrivastav (General Secretary of film worker's union) informing, "Around 70-80 workers, who were on set during the incident, decided to donate a day's salary to the Dakias. The amount comes to around Rs 2.2 lakh." (sic)
Sunil, younger brother of Dhakia was also quoted stating that, "Nothing can compensate my brother's loss, but we are glad that Bhansaliji kept his promise. At least, the future of his two sons has been secured. We are thankful to the union for pursuing this with the production house." (sic)
Sunil also shared that his brother's wife who is four months pregnant has been promised a job by the production team.
