Excel Entertainment to make TV, web, gaming content

Mumbai, Oct 12 (IANS) Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's production banner Excel Entertainment, in a joint venture with Dubai-based Riva Group of Companies, will now introduce world class content for the TV, web and gaming world.

Farhan, Ritesh and Riva Group chairman Paul Roy have collaborated to form Excel Media, a company dedicated to the creation of original content for multiple platforms.

The announcement was made here Saturday.

"We will create content for games, TV series, animated content... it will cater to both children and the adult audience," Sidwani said.

Farhan said: "We are excited at the prospect of entering the world of gaming and animation with Excel Media."

Excel Entertainment's existing media library will also be exploited across various digital media. The banner has produced films like "Dil Chahta Hai", "Rock On!!", "Lakshya", "Don" and "Talaash".
