Mumbai, Sep 13 The second addition of music awards, Chevrolet Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA), will bring musicians from different musical backgrounds and styles to perform at one platform at the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon Sep 22.
GIMA offers 26 medals for both film and non-film categories.
This year's event will see a number of performances, including a fusion piece by Indian electronic prodigies Midival Pundits who will be joined by Kailash Kher, Shubha Mudgal and young Assamese sensation, Papon.
The act aims to create a holistic representation of Indian music to unify all the genres in the country.
Sunidhi Chauhan will belt out popular numbers 'Te Amo', 'Udi-Udi', 'Sheila Ki Jawani' and 'Ainyavi-Ainyavi' moving into a grunge rock performance backed by a classic rock band.
'The performances at Chevrolet GIMA 2011 will showcase a multi-faceted portrayal of the music across India today. GIMA aims to encompass all of the diverse genres existent in the country and unify them on a common and respected platform,' Sabbas Joseph, director, Wizcraft International said in a statement.
