When offered the role of 'Vijay Pradhan' John Abraham jumped at the chance to sign the contract for upcoming cricket-based comic drama - Hook Ya Crook.

Not only will this mark the first time the actor has worked with comedy King David Dhawan, but will also be the first time that he will share screen space with Genelia D'Souza, Kay Kay Menon and Shreyas Talpade. The story in John's opinion, is also a vast improvement in terms of its potential as a comic plot compared to his first comedy, Garam Masala; a genre that he has been eager to explore since his comic capers in Dostona clicked with the audience.

This movie shows Vijay (John) being convicted and sent to jail. Where, as he soon finds, exists a unanimous love for cricket. It leads him to form a team within the prison cell, comprising of fellow convicts. The movie proceeds to see two major rival gangs in jail, settling scores with each other over games of cricket. It is a unique concept employing popularity of the sport yet again, along with an unusual portrayal of prisons based on the attitudes and interactions among inmates, blossoming camaraderie and sportsmanship in response to conflict and confrontations.

Although an initial release date had been proposed for the first week of December, due to a broken ankle injury John incurred while jumping off a high pole, the date has now been pushed ahead to March, 2010. For Bollywood's macho man Abraham, the whole experience has been memorable, nonetheless.

While everyone on the sets, inspired by his disciplined gym routine, has taken to regular exercising; John has been generously dishing out tips for the best regimes. In response the crew has crowned him 'Guru'!

Other than Hook Ya Crook, fans can look forward to seeing the dimpled star in 1-800-Love, Black Velvet, and of course the much awaited sequel to Dostana!
