Watch: Aishwarya Rai recalls how hubby Abhishek Bachchan proposed her

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and  Abhishek Bachchan are perhaps one of the most loved Bollywood pairs. Not to forget, they took everyone by surprise by announcing their engagement, way back in 2007 while filming for Mani Ratnam's Guru. We all know that Abhishek had proposed to her on a Hotel room balcony in New York and as they rest, the rest is history.

Now during a recent interview with Filmfare, the stunning actress was asked if she recalled how her husband Abhishek proposed to her, to which she replied, "Of course I recall." Stating that the moment was just 'surreal', Aishwarya added that after accepting Abhishek's proposal, she could feel the same vibe on the sets of her next film Jodhaa Akhbar, because in that film too she was to be dressed as a bride.

Further revealing how her director Ashutosh Gowariker and co-star Hrithik Roshan reacted to the news, she said, "Ashutosh is like 'you are engaged' and I am like 'yeah'" Aishwarya also remembered how the cast and crew was filming the song Khwaja Mere Khwaja on the day and disclosed. "We're doing Khawja Mere Khwaja, sitting as a bride, and I am like, oh my god this is surreal, all happening on-screen, off-screen, this is bizarre."

After tying the knot in an intimate family wedding, Aishwarya and Abhishek have been happily married for over a decade and are proud parents to their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.
