Hamari Adhuri Kahaani is an upcoming romantic drama directed by Mohit Suri, slated to be released on the 12th of June. The movie boasts of a spectacular star cast including the likes of Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan Kapur, and Rajkumar Rao as the protagonists. Rumor has it that the film is loosely based on the love story of Mahesh Bhatt's parents, who also happens to be the producer of this film. Given Suri's previous outings with hit films like Aashiqui 2 (2013) and Ek Villain (2014), the audiences have extremely high expectations from this film.

The soundtrack of Hamari Adhuri Kahaani comprises of a total of seven songs. Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, and Ami Mishra are the music composers while Sayeed Quadri and Kunaal Vermaa are the lyricists. Read on for BollyCurry's review of the album.

The album opens with the title track, "Hamari Adhuri Kahaani", sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Jeet Gannguli. This haunting track opens with a beautiful piano piece followed by violin notes, and with the appearance of the dulcet flute notes, the song reaches another level altogether. With Singh's soulful voice and the poignant lyrics, this song is definitely meant to be a part of your playlist!

"Humnava" is the next song in the album, composed by Mithoon and sung by Papon. The breathtaking violin notes accompanied by Papon's passionate vocals imparts a refreshing melody to this song, making it a must listen for all.

Composed and sung by Ami Mishra, "Hasi" is another breathy song that heavily relies on the guitar and drums for its melody. Mishra's resonant voice gives a different outlook to the song. This is one song that will grow on you slowly due to its unique style and melody.

Next on the list is "Yeh Kaisi Jagah", sung by Deepali Sathe, who's a fresh breath of air. Even though the song is nothing as great as its predecessors, this song definitely needs to be given a chance simply for Sathe's alluring voice.

The album also features the encore version to "Hamari Adhuri Kahaani". While its music and lyrics are reminiscent of the original, as it is in the case of most encore versions, Jeet Gannguli's voice brings a different flavor to this memorable song.

The female version of the beautiful "Hasi" has been sung by the immensely talented Shreya Ghoshal. This version poses stark differences from the male version, with Ghoshal's melodious voice making it extremely soothing. Possibly better than the male version, this song is definitely worth a listen!

The album ends with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's "Zaroori Tha", which has been added recently from his 2014 album Back 2 Love.  Even though the main aim of the song is to portray pain, longing and love, it doesn't seem to fit very well in the album, given the mood the preceding songs have set. While it is a good song on its own, the album of Hamari Adhuri Kahaani could have definitely done without it.

The album showcases some brilliant music pieces composed by Mithoon, Jeet Gannguli, and Ami Mishra which are already winning the hearts of audiences. With the stunning visuals accompanying these songs, along with the extremely poignant and haunting lyrics, these songs will definitely be ruling the charts for a long time to come. We, at BollyCurry, rate this album 3.5 stars on 5.

Hamari Adhuri Kahaani is all set to release on the 12th of June under Vishesh Films' banner.
