2012 Wrap Up: Top 10 Soulful and Romantic Songs

The past year has been an eventful one, particularly in the sphere or movies and their wonderful music. We saw numerous movies rise the charts, which brought along the most talented debutantes, revival of some old magical romance and action, new experiments by some risk takers, and of course, the ever so heart touching melodies. In this fast world, the peace inherent in each of these beats is what keeps us going. So here is a ride down memory lane, of all those beautiful and enchanting songs.

Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin

Sung by one of the century's most heart touching voices, Sonu Nigam, under Ajay and Atul's music direction, this song was an immediate hit. It beautifully complemented Hrithik Roshan's ever so realistic acting, yielding the emotions of unbelievable euphoria felt by him during the song.

Heer

People still hadn't reeled out from the magic of her voice in the song "Jugni", when Harshdeep Kaur cast a spell through "Heer". A.R. Rahman has rarely failed to impress one and all, and this is one of the best examples. Picturised on the beautiful pair of Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan, this song is very successful in keeping alive the magic of Yash Chopra.

Ishq Wala Love

Soft, romantic, and ethereal numbers have always been the USP of KJo's movies. Shekhar, Salim, and Neeti Mohan have managed to live up to the usual standards. The picturesque locations on this Vishal-Shekhar composition are a cherry on the cake. In a way, this song sure was the favorite of all.

Jee Le Zara

The most recent to take a hike with such smoothness, this song is really one of a kind. Under Ram Sampath's direction, and Vishal Dadlani's powerful chords, "Jee Le Zara" managed to create a unique impression in the musical world.

Pani Da Rang

This out of the thought movie was a first to explore the untouched genre, and the song itself was no less. In Ayushmann Khurrana's deep baritone, along with the music of Abhishek and Akshay, "Pani Da Rang" made a special place in everyone's heart.

Pareshaan

The movie Ishaqzaade had a lot in its kitty to offer, be it the talented Parineeti and Arjun, or the song "Pareshaan", which was sung constantly by one and all. A composition of Amit Trivedi, in Shalmali Kholgade's powerful voice, the song left a deep impact worldwide.

Piya O Re Piya

This song captured the essence of true love bubbling between the reel cum real life couple, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza. Moreover, when a Sachin and Jigar composition is sung by the combo of Atif Aslam and Shreya Ghoshal, there's rarely a chance of the song not being a hit.

Raabta

There hardly is any other song to describe the chemistry of the newly married Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Composed by Pritam, and voiced by Mika, Amitabh Bhattacharya, and Nakash, "Raabta" has been an all time favorite romantic song.

Saiyaan

Composed by the genius brothers Salim and Sulaiman, and sung in the soothing voice of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, this song was played at one of the movie's peak moments. It was a beautiful piece describing the pain and longing of the protagonist.

Saiyara

From an all time blockbuster movie, the song has been composed by Sohail Sen, and sung by the award winning veteran singer Mohit Chauhan. After a long break, and in a totally different avatar, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan were a treat to the eyes.
