Mumbai, Nov 15 (IANS) As Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray remained critical Thursday, a cloud of uncertainty loomed over filmmakers, TV producers and theatres owners.

While various shops across the city were reportedly asked to shut down, filmmakers and television producers were shooting under pressure. Theatre owners were also prepared for the worst.

"We are working and trying to meet our deadlines. We are working under pressure and trying to get out next episodes ready in case if we have to cancel the shoots on short notice then at least we will be on a safer side," a source form the television industry told IANS.

Meanwhile, around 60 to 70 percent celebrities have reportedly decided to cancel the outdoor shoots as a mark of respect to Thackeray.

Though multiplexes and single−screens were running smoothly, the owners said they are ready to stop all screenings in untoward circumstances − for security reasons.

"Right now all the theatres are running fine, but unfortunately if we get to hear about any sad news, then we might have to close the theatres for security reasons," a source from multiplex told IANS.

A source from a single−screen theatre said: "Things are running fine today (Thursday) but we don't know what will be the situation tomorrow. Let us wait and watch."

However, autorickshaws drivers have decided to take a backseat and have stopped taking any passengers since afternoon.

Ever since the news of Thackeray's critical condition started making rounds, a steady stream of VVIPs, industrialists and glamour world personalities continued to visit his residence Matoshri in Bandra East.

Among them were Governor K. Sankaranarayana, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Home Minister R.R. Patil, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Nitin Gadkari and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar.

Glamour world personalities like Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek, Rishi Kapoor with brother Randhir, Salim Khan and son Salman Khan, Manoj Kumar, Madhur Bhandarkar and Bappi Lahiri also visited Matoshri to enquire after Thackeray's health.
