Lucknow, Nov 3 (IANS) At least five policemen were injured when a mob in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah district Wednesday went on the rampage, damaging vehicles and indulging in brick batting, to protest erratic power supply.

Locals of the Sultanpura town carried out a series of violent protests in the Civil Lines area of Etawah, some 200 km from Lucknow.

'Protestors indulged in heavy brick batting, targeted trucks, cars and even police vehicles during which five policemen were injured,' police inspector Rajneesh Katiyar told reporters in Etawah.

Locals alleged there has been no electric supply in their town for the last five days.
