New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) Ahead of Diwali, a thin layer of smoke created by bursting of crackers enveloped the capital Wednesday evening.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature was recorded two notches above average at 15.7 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.8 degrees -- average for this time of the year.
'The sky will remain clear but shallow fog will be there early Thursday. Due to the burning of fire crackers, the evening temperature may go up but it will still be chilly due to the mist,' an IMD official said.
The maximum humidity was at a high of 90 percent while the minimum settled at 50 percent.
The maximum and minimum temperatures Thursday will be around 30 and 16 degrees Celsius, respectively.
