After endorsing social promotions like tourism (the overly popular "Atithi Devo Bhava") and election campaign (also endorsed by other Bolly celebrities), Aamir turns down the one against child labour. The state government of Maharashtra needed a credible face to endorse the anti-child labour campaign, and what could be more credible than the Taare Zameen Par director-producer and actor Aamir Khan. But Aamir doesn't think the same way. He thinks that it would "dilute the message of the ads" that he has already committed to.
When asked Aamir, he said he has had done "a lot of public service messages" and he now "didn't want to dilute the (message in the) ads" that he had already done "by doing another one."Copyright Bollycurry

i think he did the right thing by rejecting it as some dunderhead will then say- u "forced" a child to work in your film and that was child labor!LOL! while child labor is a tragic fact of life all across the globe, we in India have some skewered ideas about it. there r many kids who would gladly work than go to school. and they get experience while at it. but oh no- america is against it (u will be amazed to what extent child labour is rampant here). so there we all spnd crores advertizing against an "evil" that is more perceived than real. i wish the government would spend the ad money on providing kids with basic facilities like toilets and healthcare.
amir looks nice in the pic
Aamir should be ashamed of himself
