Bollywood is known for many things - the music, the colours, the romance, and of course, mise en scene. Exotic locations are used to add to the grandeur of the films, but we, the audience, upon seeing them are left itching to tick the place off our bucket list of the many places we want to visit.

Suffice to say, Bollywood has inspired many a great travels.

But what do we do on the vacations Bollywood has inspired us to take?

We, at BollyCurry, have put together a short list of suggestions for things to do on your vacations, as suggested by your favourite movies!

For those that enjoy the outdoors, hiking is always a treat. Like Bunny, Naina, Aditi and Avi in 2013's Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, one can travel to the Himalayas and trek up to Manali. As shown in the movie, the breathtaking scenery is a visual treat for anyone who loves nature, and is ready for a little bit of effort to climb up the rough terrain. Just be sure to avoid getting into fights with locals at the villages along the way!

If you enjoy traveling with your family, a road trip around the villages of Rajasthan to see the sights and historical monuments like the family in Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999) would be an ideal option. Not only is it educational, it also encourages family bonding! Though, of course, we encourage you not to turn a honeymoon into a family vacation.

Feeling adventurous? Hop onto a plane bound for Spain and enjoy deep sea diving in Costa Brava. Much like Imran, Arjun and Kabir from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), adventure sports would give your vacation a good adrenaline rush. Take a chance and swim with the fish and see the reefs. We're sure it would make for quite the story back home.

Imran, Arjun and Kabir also go sky-diving in Seville, which is another great idea for an adventure sport to experience while on vacation! Of course, you do not necessarily have to go to Seville to sky-dive; you can find beautiful spots to sky-dive in New Zealand and other parts of the world. Just do not push anyone out of the plane!

There are so many more ideas you can get for your vacations from Bollywood films! From snorkelling in Ek Villain (2014), to catching an opera at the Sydney Opera House in Dil Chahta Hai (2001), you will definitely find something you would enjoy! What are some of your favourite ideas that you have gotten from a Bollywood movie for what to do on your vacation? Let us know in the comment section below.
