Happy Birthday Himesh Reshammiya!

July 23^rd marks the 41^st birthday of the multi-talented Himesh Reshammiya.

The ace music director made his Bollywood debut in 1998 with Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (starring Salman Khan and Kajol Devgn) upon the recommendation of his good friend Salman Khan. Reshammiya only produced two musical tracks for the album, which went on to be fairly successful. However, it wasn't until Tere Naam (2003) that Reshammiya emerged as a music director to watch out for and eventually became a household name. Since then, he has accumulated many successful albums to his name which include Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), Aashiq Banaya Aapne (2005), Aksar (2006), Namastey London (2007), Aap Kaa Surroor (2007), Bodyguard (2011), Bol Bachchan (2012) and the recently released Kick (2014).

 

Along with being an exceptional music director, Reshammiya is also a singer, actor, producer, lyricist and writer. He came into light as a singer in 2005 with the movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Since then, he has sung in nearly every album he has produced. Reshammiya then made his acting debut in 2007 with Aap Kaa Surroor and arose as a producer and writer with Damadamm! (2011). His most recent endeavour was as a lyricist where he penned the lyrics to "Hookah Bar" from Khiladi 786.  

 

Speaking of Reshammiya's recent work, he was seen on the big screen earlier this year in The Xpose (2014), which received varying decent reviews. A sequel to this movie is scheduled for a 2015 release. Likewise, Reshammiya has also penned the music for Sajid Khan's Humshakals and Salman Khan's Kick. 

 

Transgressing his success from the big screen to the small, he is also commonly known as a judge for the successful music reality TV show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Reshammiya served on the panel for three seasons.
