Happy Birthday Arjun Kapoor!

Welcome to the birthday celebration of one of the fastest rising stars of Bollywood, none other than the Gunday and 2 States heartthrob, Arjun Kapoor!

Born in Mumbai, Kapoor is the son of Indian film producer Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor. Actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, along with producer Sandeep Marwah are his uncles, while actress Sonam Kapoor, actor Mohit Marwah, and producer Rhea Kapoor are his cousins. Sridevi Kapoor is his stepmother. Little is known about Kapoor's childhood or schooling, though we do know that he graduated from the Asian Academy of Film and Television before commencing his journey into Bollywood.

Kapoor began his career as an assistant director, first by assisting Nikhil Advani in Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and then in Salaam-E-Ishq (2007). He was also an associate producer in No Entry (2005) and Wanted (2009).

Moving ahead from being behind the scenes Kapoor debuted as a lead actor in Ishaqzaade (2012), opposite Parineeti Chopra. His character was of a hot-headed, rustic, fiery youngster from a prominent Hindu political family. The film was a commercial and critical success and Kapoor's role managed to garner him attention and recognition.

With a successful debut under his belt, Kapoor swiftly stepped up to playing a double role in the action thriller Aurangzeb (2013). Although the movie received mixed reviews, Kapoor was highly praised for his double role and acting skills. Earlier this year, Kapoor starred in Gunday alongside Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra, as a good-hearted goon. His run in 2014 continued with 2 States opposite Alia Bhatt, in which he essayed the role of a Punjabi boy in a relationship with a Tamilian girl. Both movies were a huge success at the Box Office and Kapoor received some well deserved critical acclaim. With 2 States, Kapoor's lovers got the opportunity to witness his romantic side, a different vision compared to his previous movies.

In his short career, Kapoor has managed to win the BIG Star Entertainment Award for Most Entertaining Debut Actor, Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut, and the Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow (Male) for his role in Ishaqzaade (2012).

Currently, Kapoor is working on Finding Fanny Fernandes opposite Deepika Padukone. The movie is slated to release at the end of the year 2014. Tevar (the remake of Okkadu) is another film in Kapoor's kitty, in which he is starring opposite Sonakshi Sinha. This film is still under production and is also supposed to release in the last quarter of 2014.
