Happy Birthday Tina Ambani!

Today, on the 11th of February, we gather together to celebrate the birthday of yesteryear model and actress Tina Munim, now known as Tina Munim Ambani.

Born as Niruvati Munim to a Gujarati-speaking Jain family, Tina and her family resided in Mumbai. She was always interested in the field of modelling and even took part in the International Teen Princess Contest held in Aruba in 1975. The contest turned fruitful for the pretty lady as she won titles like Miss Photogenic and Miss Bikini. Out of the blue, she was discovered by Bollywood actor Dev Anand at the event, who cast her in his film Des Pardes (1978), which marked Tina's debut on the silver screen.

Tina was then seen in many movies like Baaton Baaton Mein (1979), Lootmaar (1980), Man Pasand (1980), and Sanjay Dutt's introductory movie Rocky (1981). To add to her list, Tina's most credited films were alongside rumored ex-flame, late Rajesh Khanna and actor Rishi Kapoor. Some of those movies include Fifty Fifty (1981), Souten (1983), Alag Alag (1985), Adhikar (1986), Bewafai (1985), Suraag (1982), Yeh Vaada Raha (1982), Aap Ke Diwaane(1980), Bade Dil Wala (1983), Karz (1980), and Katilon Ke Katil (1981).

With a career reaching new heights with each passing movie, it was quite a shocker when Tina announced that she was quitting acting in favor of completing her studies. After her alleged break up with Rajesh Khanna, she moved to California in 1987. 1992 brought a new chapter in her life with her taking wedding vows with businessman Anil Ambani and becoming a part of the rich and reputed Ambani family. The couple have two sons.

Tina took a sabbatical from all work associated with films to take care of her family but she is still remembered for the beautiful roles she has portrayed.
