Bollywood has always surprised us with a vast array of genres to cater to all ages of audiences. Needless to say, the topic of children hasn't been left behind in the world of entertainment either! Be it Ishaan in Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par (2007), Stanley in Amole Gupte's Stanley Ka Dabba (2011), or Ajay in Mahesh Bhatt's Zakhm (1998), children have always left a lasting impact on the audiences.

For Children's Day 2012, BollyCurry takes you down memory lane to commemorate some famous child-focused movies and child artistes of B-Town!

1. Taare Zameen Par

Ishaan Awasthi, played by Darsheel Safary, was the star of the movie. Ishaan's journey begins with his parents sending him off to a boarding school after being disappointed by his poor grades. There, he crosses paths with his new art teacher, played by Aamir Khan, who discovers that he has Dyslexia, and helps him overcome his disability. This heartwarming tale won much acclaim and made Awasthi a household name for his fabulous performance.

2. Zakhm

Zakhm revolves around Ajay (Ajay Devgn) and his mother's struggles to raise her children. His mother, played by Pooja Bhatt, belongs to a Muslim background and ends up falling for a Hindu film producer. They even get married late in the film, but due to religious barriers he doesn't document or acknowledge their marriage. The marriage with a Hindu man forces her to hide her faith and live as a Christian even in front of her own child. A big chunk of this movie focuses on the struggles of his mother when Ajay was a child, played by the child artiste Kunal Kemu.

3. Chillar Party

This movie focuses on a gang of innocent but feisty kids who lead carefree lives till one of their friends' life is in danger which is when they decide to take over world's politics. The movie does an amazing job showcasing the young talent as well as the innocent, yet loyal relationships one can form at that age.

4. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai revolves around the character of Anjali Khanna (played by Sana Saeed, the daughter of Rahul Khanna (Shah Rukh Khan) and Tina (Rani Mukherjee)) who is on a mission to re-unite her father with his true love, Anjali Sharma (Kajol) after the death of her mother. Throughout the film, she is shown trying her best, with the help of her grandmother, to reunite Rahul with his long lost love. The innocence and charm brought to the character by Sana helped make this movie a classic!

5. Stanley ka Dabba

Stanley (Partho Gupte) is a fourth grader who is extremely talented and popular amongst his friends. However, he never brings his lunch box to school, for which he is asked to leave the school by a strict Hindi teacher for eating other's food. Later it is revealed that Stanley is an orphan, who works at a restaurant. After skipping school for some days, he returns with his own lunch box which contains tasty food that everyone loves but no one ever finds out that it is actually leftovers from the restaurant Stanley works at. If you haven't seen this one, do give it a look for the heartwarming story!

So, here are a few films that showcase the limitless talent that is present in children. On this special occasion, BollyCurry wishes everyone a Happy Children's Day!
