Vivek - third time unlucky?

Ahh Vivek Oberoi... was there ever a better Riches to Rags story?

The actor, once slated for stardom with Aishwariya Rai by his side and hits such as Company, Saathiya and Yuva under his belt, now seems to be struggling to retain any sort of foothold in the fickle world of Bollywood despite continued critical and commercial success.

The latest blow to his (already spotty) career is rumours of him being unceremoniously ousted from not one, but three projects. The list reads: Shooutout at Wadala by Sanjay Gupta; the sequel to 2007's crime film Shooutout at Lokhandwala. To be fair, there have been plenty of cast changes in this one with the team currently standing at John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Ronit Roy.

The next is Bloody Paki based on the 2005 London Terrorist attacks. However, despite Vivek's name being linked to the project for the last two years, it seems as if the movie may just proceed without him.

Finally the actor also seems to have lost out on Bejoy Nambiar's David. The movie, covering the stories of three different characters all called David (bet you didn't see that one coming) has apparently had problems from the get-go with rumours of Vivek insisting on playing the role of David.. all three of them.

Nambiar however remained unconvinced and now seems to favour Neil Nitin Mukesh for the role(s).

Yay for Neil. Chin up Vivek; you still have Krrish 2 to look forward to. We hope!

Just saw Sathiyaa this weekend ... Vivek and Rani's chemistry was hot. Truly luck can be such a slippery mistress! He's a decent actor. Worse actors have passed off because they are some star's son, nephew etc.2012-02-20 11:50:20

Find it so bad reading comments about someone's looks. This is our mentality in general which is so sad. Fair and good looking is talent and average looking with lots of talent is bad actor ???? He is such a versatile and very good actor. Hope that he gets his due soon. Good luck to him for his future projects.
He is better actor than Many of the actors which are getting successful now a days.

i m not a vivek fan but i hate how he has been treated and bullied so far on many ocassions in bollywood where actors work for different camps.i really feel sorry for him.some big headed ppl in b-town needs to get a life and stop making this actors life hell only because he was with someone for some time.

Bloody Hell, Vivek's career was going fairly well up and until that incident. And to deny that he can't act or is not talented is damn right outrageous but this is the big nasty world, tell the truth and the world turns their back on you and worships the one whom should be punished. Money and Fame buys everything... even someone's heart.

Grow some balls bollywood, promote talent.

I agree ! Sallu has NOTHING to do with Vivek's sloppy career. In fact Vivek fans should be aware of all the fights and mess ups he's been in with all the directors and actors..which have actually halted his career!!!! In fact, his cousin (who is really sxciee btw loll) Akshay Oberoi did a film recently..and sed he doesn't want to be linked up with Vivek cus of his sour relationships in bwood..
