With extensive promotional campaigns backing it up, for Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut Mausam to have grossed a
total of over Rs. 250 million in the fortnight since its release sounds reasonable and expected enough.
What came as a surprise was the John Abraham starrer Force grossing
a grand lumpsum of over Rs. 96 million within the span of its opening
weekend itself. Being neither a romantic genre, nor half as promoted as
the former, for Force to have shown such a tremendous inaugural weekend turnover has caused the Shahid-Sonam starrer a declining setback. Such that, Mausam showed a comparitively nominal earning of Rs. 65million plus, during its second week of showing.
An
interesting Box Office evidence, as noted by critiques and the market
alike - even as avowed fans of Shahid Kapur and Sonam Kapoor would like
to debate otherwise.
Meanwhile, Mere Brother Ki Dulhann,
in its month's duration since release is closer to touching a Rs. 400
million mark - thus making way for a graceful exit from the screens.
With
the year having witnessed more blockbusters than showdowns in terms of
general anticipated ventures, will this finale trimester of 2011 -
promising the likes of Rockstar and Ra.One - live up to the progressive trend?!

Force Deserves that , as it reminds us , wat action movies need is not Matrix kind of graphics but a brilliant fights with a powerful story line and a No JOKE MAROING VILLAIN ...
Mausum was a superb Movie but i havent watched Force yet cant wait for it though
Force was good and john was looking awesome :P
Mausam looked like a boring movie from it's trailer only...
Now I cant wait for RA.One...!
@ Klutszy_KaShian - I neither liked Dabaang, Ready or Bodyguard. Nor do I know why these movies are considered blockbuster hits. I recall being outraged seeing Guzaarish being a flop because the movie in my opinion was absolutely sensational.
I'm a sucker for hard core romance, so despite not liking Sonam Kapoor - I was anticipating the movie like an obsessed psycho path. The moment the movie came out, I bought the tickets and watched the movie. I fell asleep half way. Can you blame some people for finding it boring? You are entitled to your own opinion, so don't try forcing it down our throats.
If Sharukh Khan is conceited then pray tell, define Sonams personality for me as well. And no offense darling, SRK worked his butt off to get to this position. It was his acting that titled him 'King of Bollywood' not his 'personality'.
I can similarly say 'Global warming has possibly affected people's brains for considering SRK not to be the King of Bollywood'
I honestly don't get why people hate Mausam so much?
It pains so much to know that real true asli love story's are now dead.
I understand that everyone has their own opinions but when those opinions hurt others it's not too much of an opinion any more, it's just a hate statement. I satisfy myself by saying that Hater are Gon do Nothin but Hate... but for how long?
I think everyone hates Mausam because they either hate Shahid or Sonam, no one watches the movie for the MOVIE anymore, it's just for the actors.
Dabangg, Ready, Bodygaurd were all just for Salman, the movie's were unrealistic, and a bore. I don't try to be mean but Salman Khan has so much potential but he wastes it on these shit movies.
Ra One. What could I say about that? Already itni big fan following, but for what?? Not for the movie, for SRK.
Now I don't want to hurt anyone but SRK is too conceited to be considered a role model and the King of Bollywood.
In short, Global Warming has affected people'es brain too.
I am hope ra.one will be a huge hit.
i luv both of the films
but ra one is gonna break all the records and its gonna rule at the box office more than dabaang
wow thats kind of surprising! but well done, force :) i like the john-genelia pairing, n i wanna watch the movie.
i'm not sure about rockstar, doesn't look THAT great. but ra.one looks awesomee!
I loved the movie Force! John looked so sexy that I began to munch onto the cinema seats suppressing myself from crawling up to the screen and begging him to be mine!
The action scene was so amazing. The villain was also quite sexy that I began to nibble on random people's heads - begging him to be my sideline. LMAO!
Then I saw the trailer for Don 2, Agneepath and Ra one and I begged all of bollywood to be mine.
The moral of the story is. I did not like the movie Mausam = )
SRK will change BO records forever..the biggest movie in Bollywood!! SRK rocks and definately rules~
