Today marks the 79th birthday of Yash Raj Chopra, the patriarch and founder of Yash Raj Films.

The filmmaker - who also holds qualified titles such as director, screenwriter and producer - has enjoyed over 50 years of esteemed success in Bollywood with mega hits such as Kabhi Kabhie and Mohabbatein under his belt. As well as France's Legion of Honour, Yash Raj Chopra has also received the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 2005, acclaimed Swiss Ambassador's Award (2010) and was the first Indian to be honoured by BAFTA in the 59-year history of the academy.

With countless hits under the banner, most recently, Yash Raj Films released the well-grossing Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (starring Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar) with forthcoming releases including: Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl (reuniting the team of Band Baaja Baraat - Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh), Ek Tha Tiger (Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif) and the third instalment of the Dhoom franchise with Aamir 'Perfectionist' Khan in the shoes of a baddie!
