Ramesh Sippy's upcoming thriller,
Dum Maaro Dum, has been in the ne
ws constantly for a while now. First it was about Deepika Padukone's hot and sizzling item number on the remix of the 70s' hit track, and then the legendary Dev Anand's objection about the same. Now, it looks like the movie has caught the media attention again, this time for an entirely different reason.
The latest buzz is that the flick has gained some suspicions from the government of Goa.
The Junior Bachhan starrer is an edge-of-the-seat thriller shot in the beautiful tourist destinations of Goa. The plot line of the film deals with drugs and other illegal activities around the place. Apparently, this has raised the suspicions of the state government and the government now wants to ensure that the film doesn't project Goa in a bad light, thereby tarnishing its image in the international tourism industry. As tourism contributes the principal share of the state's revenue, it's only expected that the government has demanded a special screening of the film before it officially hits the theatres.
Will the Goan government approve? Will they slash scenes from the movie? Watch this space to find out!
