Yun Hota to Kya Hota!

Now I know why people say lot of things can happen over coffee. The idea behind writing this article came while sipping a cup of coffee. The idea is that if I were to cast any Indian cricketer in top five recent Bollywood flicks. Who would that be? I’m all set to be a director casting Indian cricketers in five recent movies. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Om Shanti Om: Well the only guy who can replace SRK is none other than Mahinder Singh Dhoni(MSD). The obvious reasons being he is the only guy (flavor of the season) who can match up to SRK’s popularity not overlooking the fact how good-looking Dhoni is (short hair ofcourse). Secondly, it has Dhoni’s love interest Deepika Padukone in it. (If I had to replace Deepika, my next choice would have been khushboo...Incase you’re wondering who sheCricketers as Actors is……read till the end). Imagine Dhoni singing “Aankhon mein teri” and going Dard-e-Disco while his female fans go Dard-e Dhoni.

Next in line is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. After racking my brain, the only cricketer I think would look extremely charming while singing romantic lines to Sonam Kapoor is Zaheer Khan. Or maybe Irfaan Pathan depends who provides the dates first.

The next movie is Jab We Met. Though Shahid Kapoor did a great job, Rahul Dravid would do fairly good job of playing intense Aditya Kashyap. The USP of the film would be Jammy dancing on “Nagara” and “Mauja Mauja”.

Yuvraj Singh is the choice to play Psychiatrist Akki in “Bhool Bhulaiya”. Akshay and Yuvraj have similar nature. Both are energetic and fun-loving individuals. Yuvraj has all the qualities to be an actor. Wonder why he hasn’t thought of acting yet.

Last but not the least is Chak De which would feature our very own Ganguly Dada. The reason has to be similar circumstances that Shahrukh in reel life and Ganguly in real life have faced. They both wanted to prove a point. After being sacked and dropped from the team, Ganguly desperately wanted to make a comeback to shut everybody’s mouth. Kabir Khan too faced somewhat similar situation. The character is all about being confident, aggressive, patriotic and a never say die attitude which in my opinion defines Sourav Ganguly as well.

Before you comment, just want to clear that these are my views as a writer. Readers are requested to post their views without being critical of what is being said in the article.
