No more Bachchan's for Ratnam

If recent rumours are to be believed, then it is being heard that Mani Ratnam has shown his back to Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the time being. The much hyped Raavan did little to live upto its expectations at box office. Further, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan circuitously blamed the editor and the director of the film. Mani did not take this particular criticism from Big B well; consequently, he has had second thoughts about casting Abhishek for his next venture, which is said to be in the casting stage at the moment.

Significant sources confirm that Ranbir Kapoor has been finalized for the same. Additionally, Ratnam is keen on casting Imran Khan as the second lead for the movie. The actor has already been approached with the offer and if things fall into place for Imran and Ratnam, then it'll indeed be a treat for those who have long waited to see the boy duo together on screen, especially recalling their entertaining success from the Filmfare stage.

congrats MANI sir..atlast u came to the point.....pls come back to tamil and do some good regional movies with immensive talented actors like prithviraj,vikram,madhavan,surya......they know how to act!!not like d Small B.......and ash!!!!(only hav good looks.....without make up she is not comfortale...it will shows her age..een RAjnikanth told her abt dis...it goes lke this...rajni ask der...dat y u always look into d mirror..dont u hav faith in ur beauty??????????...)

duhh, even a regular person (thats not in the film industry) could have guessed that this movie was going to flop.. common ratnam, be realistic... the only movie that i liked from abhi with aish was kuch na kaho, i give that movie a 3.5/5... but this one just scared me from the trailers (thanks abhishek!) n after watching the movie i felt like i paid $12 to take a nap inside the theater!
oh well, I do wish Abhi the best in Dostana 2 because i know that it'll be extremely entertaining as the 1st one. :D

i completely agree wtih you simran1285- way too hyped and overrated. raavan is just a mere disaster, i actually thought paa was worse. have no idea how it did as well as it did.

About some dang time Mr. Ratnam. Bollywood has talent besides the Bachchans who in my opinion are HIGHLY overrated!

i haven't watched Ravan...and never did i want to even .....But from the reviews, i guess, Abhishek, as usual, would have been at his WORST.....Although i HATE aish from the bottom of my heart for her nasty behaviour and immoral attitude, but i can't deny, she's a good actress....
