Recently, director Jagmohan Mundhra's latest film Apartment
has fallen prey to much controversy. There have been various rumours
surrounding the ostensible sexual
aspect presented in the flick. The grapevine has been buzzing with the
prospect of lesbianism
or such implications in the movie!
Earlier, it had been heard that the characters played by Tanushree
Dutta and Neetu Chandra had some mutual romantic inclinations. However,
now Ms.
Chandra has come forward to repudiate all such claims. She blames the
rumours
on the latest fascination Bollywood and the Indian public seem to have
with
homosexuality, following the stupendous success of Dostana.
Instead, what the movie does include is some mental imbalances -
there is a schizophrenic aspect to the movie. For those who don't
remember the
disease portrayed by Kangana Ranaut in Woh
Lamhe, Schizophrenia is a severe psychotic disorder that blurs the
lines
between reality and the unreal. The characteristic symptoms of
hallucinations
and delusions lead to a very socially inept individual, some interesting
situations (and naturally, some great Bollywood drama).
On a normalizing note, the movie revolves around a group of strangers
and their interactions
upon having to live together in an apartment. A centralized focus rests
on the issues of space
crunch and exorbitant real estate prices in Mumbai, where the roommates
live.

thank for the news...............
This movie looks crap. I won't be wasting my money to watch tanushree dutta. :S
not looking forward to it....
This film which is gonna release is a remake of "Single white female" part2 hollywood film....released in 1992 & 2005
That film was really thriller and sounded nice ..let's see how they took this film.....Don't mind the two actress kiss in onscreen...
I wouldn't mind seeing tanushree dutta and neetu chandra sharing an on screen kiss! That would be something!
MAJOR FLOP
already :S
Well there's nothing wrong with homosexuality in my POV.. but comparing that to Schizophrenia is kind of 'out there.' I find it really rude... if that is what they're trying to say through this movie.
Schizophrenia is a pretty common mental disorder, but being attracted to the same sex doesn't mean you're schizophrenic.
if they focused on one maybe it wouldnt be so controversial...I mean lesbians AND schizophrenia...those are very emotional aspects
So not looking forward to this film
Thanks for the article hun :)
