I was destined to work with Ranbir Kapoor in his debut film

Lyricist Sameer feels it is destiny that he has penned the lyrics for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Sawariya", which happens to be the launch movie of Rishi Kapoor's son Ranbir Kapoor.

Recalls Sameer "Almost10 years back when I was working with Rishi Kapoor for his home production 'Aa Ab Laut Chalen', I had mentioned to him that I would like to work with him when he launches his son Ranbir. Rishi Kapoor promised me then that he would definitely like to work with me when he launches his son. However, Ranbir is making his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie and it is a strange co-incidence that Sanjaybhai asked me to pen the lyrics for the movie. I feel that destiny has brought Ranbir and me together for his debut movie."
