Ranbir to play a dumb and deaf character

Ranbir Kapoor is once again ready to challenge his acting skills. In his upcoming project, Anurag Basu has chosen Ranbir to play a character with major sense impairments - being dumb and deaf. Unlike previous ventures which have dealt with similar subjects, Anurag plans to make a musical out of his script. The feelings and thoughts of a mute who remains equally oblivious to the sounds of the world around him, will be conveyed via songs.

Music director Pritam Chakraborty has been roped in for the task of composing songs which will emote on behalf of this character.

Ranbir apparently has a significant background in this particular area, having assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the making of mega blockbuster and critically acclaimed, Black. In pursuit of his research at that time, he had visited many hearing and speech impaired institutions - an experience that will more than likely pay him yet again.

After his laudable success during 2009, we wish Ranbir the very best for this latest undertaking - perhaps the hardest in his career so far!
