Katrina - An Item Girl?

Tees Mare Khan, which is being directed by Farah Khan and produced by her husband Shirish Kunder, will see Katrina Kaif play the role of an item girl and she will paired opposite Akshay Kumar, her co-star in dozens of movies so far, like Singh is Kinng, Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namastey London, Welcome, De Dhana Dhan etc.

Shirish, who also writes the film, has confirmed that Katrina will be playing a wannabe item girl in the film, adding that they deliberated a lot before casting her as the main lead.

This is the first time in her career that Katrina will be enacting the character of an item girl. She has played many different roles before, right from the girl-next-door in Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani, to the rich girl in De Dhana Dhan and even a married woman in New York.

When asked whether Katrina's British accent would help her as she plays an NRI from Southall who wishes to make it big in Bollywood, Shirish says that there isn't any Southall connection to Katrina's character in the film. Instead, they were looking for somebody like her and she fits the role perfectly.

@ tulipbaby53: don't feel bad dear.. katrina nor her fans should care.. we know that it is a FACT that she has delivered LOTS of hits films and that she has improved.. I don't think she'll get hurt by whatever some people say :)
