'Anarkali' actress Bina Rai Passes away

Actress Bina Rai passed away this Sunday at her Mumbai Residence due to a heart attack.

Bina Rai" align="right" hspace="5" vspace="5" />78 year old actress was the wife of late Prem Nath, actor and brother-in-law to filmmaker Raj Kapoor. The family are currently waiting for elder son Prem Kishan (younger being Kailash, also known as Monty) to return from abroad before they can hold the funeral in Banganga on Monday.

Bollywood best remembers this charming actress for her her performances in movies like Anarkali, Taj Mahal and later Ghunghat which won her a Filmfare award. Having taken the choice to stop acting after the release of her 1966 movie Daadi Maa; Bina Rai was succeeded by son Prem Kishan who hit it off in Hindi Films with Dulhan Woji Jo Piya Man Bhaye; but was unable to further prove himself. He has since then become a successful TV producer.

Grandson Sidharth was the director of popular TV serial Sanjivan.
