December 1st marks the national World HIV Awareness Day. HIV, a deadly infection, is affecting many families around the world, particularly in Africa.
To create awareness on HIV, which later transforms into AIDS, our Bollywood biggie directors, Karan Johar and Farhan Akhtar teamed up the Heroes Project team and NACO. This project essentially launches a communication campaign 'HIV' and 'Soul Cages' spreading details about the infection.
Other than our Bollywood directors, many political figures are also taking part in the campaign. The team unveiled a statue, created by known artist Jason Hackenwerth, at the busy Chartrapati Shivaji Terminus. The sculpture is a masterpiece within itself; its made up of 20,00 balloons and 12,000 condoms. The statue is suppose to help send the message across to the nation and also depicts a metaphor as the victory over the virus!
