Bengali version of 'Namaste London' fined!

in our world, more often than not politely paraphrased as 'inspiration'. Multiple Hollywood films get 'remade' into Bollywood flicks and then smaller cinemas take on from there. The big hit at Box office, 'Namaste London' starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif was recently made in Bengali. The film was titled 'Poran Jay Jolaye Re' and it is said to have made collections enough to restablish the worth of its original version.

However, fame for this regional remake turned nasty. On Tuesday morning the Kolkata court ordered all profits from this film will be deposited into court. This action will cause the production company of 'Poran Jay Jolaye Re', Venkatesh Films to lose a considerable amount of money.

According to the director of 'Namaste London', Vipul Shah, this act was necessary to stop plagiarism. The acclaimed director called in a historic violation of copyright infringement. He added also, that he didn't do this for the reward but rather to keep the principles in place.

To add on, the male lead & co-producer of 'Namaste London', Akshay Kumar has decided that he will not sign any film that suggests it may be an illegal copy of another. The actor stated that his films will always be original as he believes that plagiarism is a serious offense!

They are being such hypocrites! Wasn't Akshay Kumar's Heyy Baby a copy of Three Men and a Baby? I wonder how he would like it if all the profits were confiscated for that film. It seems unfair this bengali film is being singled out.

What hypocrites! 80% of Bollywood movies are copied from Hollywood. Who are they fooling? Some movies are ditto copies of Hollywood, Shameless people!

this is so stupid.bollywood copies so many movies from diff cinemas holywood, n other indian region cinemas but when someone copies bollywood movies which some of r not even original in first place directors get mad. if bollywood copies then it's k but other ppl do it it's totally wrong. the producers n directors should learn something but who i am kidding they never will.2009-09-09 00:28:25

they all copy....but it's just that vipul shah saw it and decided to take them to court. The Hollywood people first of all don't see our movies, and they cannot be bothered to take bollywood people to court i guess.

because only the people they have committed the copyright violation take you to court, and Hollywood hasn't been bothered, but Vipul was.

but whatever, my akki wont act in those movies anymore. keyword is anymore...ahahaha <3

i totally agree wid sislam7431, nimrah, and pinklady09 sooooo many movies were copied from hollywood like dhoom (like they didnt make $$$) yash chopra should pay up money from it cuz it was alll Oceans 11 and wat bout that song twist from love aaj kal its a copy of some paki song. and lets not forget pritam stole pehle nazar (race by atif aslam) from some korean song.... come on get a life vipul shah looks wats happening in ur industry before u point fingers at others...sore loser

As if Bolly movies are not copied at all! Honestly, most of Akshay's films are copied and they go on fining other people for copying their movie. Wow!
