Rock On girl, Prachi Desai wasn't in a rocking state of
mind on hearing about her bath-tub scene with Tusshar Kapoor in the

very proud of u and agree wid loverboy260 , y expose urself 4 any reason in front of millions jus for a film ?
prachi isnt open kind
excellent! v r proud of u Prachi!
fire_woman: i agree to a certain extent but maybe you havent realised that men & women are not equal.. what is modest for a man isnt modest for a woman & vice versa..
Also it is a good thing that she did.. why expose yourself for any reason in front of millions for a movie?
prachi is not open kind
Totally agree fire_woman! Unfortunately these double standards are always going to be there.
Btw, here's a quote of Prachi from an interview:
"In deciding a role lots of things have to be taken into consideration, but if I am uncomfortable doing a role be it a forward, bold scene or wearing clothes I am not comfortable wearing because they are too revealing I will not accept the role. As I grow things will change and I will become more accepting but certain things like my values and morals will remain the same. Also I don't think to look good or be a good actress you have to expose, you can look beautiful without exposing."
Love her!<3
rabees011: Yes, I'm quite aware of our biological differences. And what is acceptable in terms of a woman removing her blouse -vs- a man removing his shirt - in public. =)
My comment was meant in the context of the article & conversation. I.E. is it really necessary for a man to whip off his shirt to show off his chest or "six-pack" for no reason, when it clearly has nothing to do with what is happening in the film? Just as it isn't always necessary for an actress to show "skin", neither is it always necessary for a man to take off his shirt - but both happen. However, women are much more often, and more roundly condemed out of hand. Yet men are given a great deal of leeway, and rarely is a comment made.
My point being - If one is going to make an issue of, and disapprove of, unnecessary flashing of "skin"
- then it should be applied equally to men, as well as women, in the context of where and why it is happening. Sadly and unfortunately, there is still a great deal of "double standard" behavoir in films, in the media, and by the public.
I'm so proud of her. She took a stand and stuck to it!
