Fashion Face-off: Deepika Padukone vs Aditi Rao Hydari at GQ Awards

Imagine this. You rock up at an exclusive party knowing you look a million bucks. No one in that room has anything close to the gorgous creation that is you. But then, you turn around you wish for the ground to swallow whole immediately. How on earth is it possible that someone else is wearing the same outfit as you?!

In a world where the limelight is forever trained on you, being caught in the same outfit as someone else is a moment of absolute embarrassment. Worse is when you are caught at the same event wearing the same outfit with the same hairstyle. Deepika Padukone and Aditi Rao Hydari faced a similar situation when both turned up at the GQ India Awards wearing the same Gaurav Gupta gown albeit with slight differences.

 

Deepika Padukone graced the event with a more covered version of the Gaurav Gupta gown with long slits down the sides. She paired it with heavily smoked eyes, long, silky, middle-parted hair, and midi rings. The smoked eyes and the dark make-up definitely brought out the glittery gown, though it also made the look vaguely harsh on our eyes. The midi rings were a good addition, though a diamond or gold bracelet would have done wonders to the outfit.

 

Aditi Rao Hydari, on the other hand, chose a more revealing version of the Gaurav Gupta gown, which she paired with softer pink-shaded makeup, no accessories, and long silky middle-parted hair. The makeup made her face glow, which inturn made the gown glow, though a few accessories would have added the much needed oomph to her outfit.
