Fashion Police: Shahid and Mira's Wedding Reception

On July 12th, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput, the newly wedded couple, hosted their grand wedding reception in Mumbai at the Palladium Hotel. The event was attended by many Bollywood celebrities all decked up for this event. While the wedding and family reception may have been low-key, the Bollywood reception was a venue of glitz and glamour. Now where there's glitz, there's BollyCurry's Fashion Police, therefore we take a closer look at what the night had to offer us.

First are the hosts of the event, the newly wedded Mr. & Mrs. Kapoor. Our groom, who wore a black tuxedo with an over-sized bow designed by Kunal Rawal, looked dapper for sure. The beautiful bride,  on the other hand, looked simple yet very elegant in a beautiful Manish Malhotra blue and white lehenga. She completed her look with a pair of cascading earrings, a bracelet and a ring. Together, the duo looked stunning together and we have nothing more to say except congratulations! Not to miss is their hand-in-hand entry. A couple much in love! Ratings: Shahid Kapoor 5/5, Mira Rajput 5/5

Kangana Ranaut graced the reception with a lovely and simple light pink chiffon sari along with a stunning dazzling diamond necklace by Miu Miu and a Zara clutch purse. She did look quite beautiful but there was a lack of accessories. A bracelet to complement the necklace would have done wonders to the otherwise bare arms. Also we do feel that a bit darker make-up would have been a perfect balance to the light-coloured sari. Rating: 3/5

Dia Mirza showed up at the reception along with her husband. Her beautiful Anita Dongre gold anarkali suit was the main attraction of her look. She completed her look with a heavy necklace and matching earrings along with a pair of gold bangles and Jimmy Choo heels. Overall, with her skin complexion and her colour choice, her look was amazing. Rating: 4.5/5

Alia Bhatt attended this event with something somewhat different. While the dress looks lovely, we feel that it overshadows her. The Manish Malhotra blue anarkali does wonders to her complexion, yet the cream top looked more fitting to wear with pants and seemed to be slightly too big for her. To add to it, there were no accessories to complement the look, making it seem rather bare. Rating: 2.5/5

Shraddha Kapoor looked like an angel with her pastel white sleeveless anarkali suit by Ankita Choksey along with a pair of silver drop earrings and a matching purse. Ms. Kapoor's outfit did much justice so the lack of jewellery and accessories made no difference to her look. We would do away with the parting in the middle though, it makes Ms. Kapoor look like she aged a couple of years overnight. Rating: 4/5

Ranveer Singh looked dashing as usual. Looking a bit more sober than his previous outings, Singh donned a teal coloured suit with white shirt and teal-coloured bowtie. He added the telltale hat that seems to have become his signature look and yet looked just perfect with the overall outfit. The colour looked fabulous on him and we must say we approve. If only something could have been done about that smile. It spelled tired and how! Rating: 4/5

Anil and Sonam Kapoor, the father-daughter duo, appeared at the reception dressed to the nines! Veteran Anil Kapoor donned black pants and a brown checked blazer with a white shirt and a violet coloured tie. Fashionista Sonam Kapoor looked gorgeous in her blue and green anarkali by Anuradha Vakil paired with a necklace and matching earrings from her mother's collection. Along with brown footwear and handbag, we must say we appreciated her look quite a bit. We especially loved how she went fully traditional instead of mixing in a bit of Western. Sometimes the good old Indian look is best. Ratings: Anil Kapoor 3.5/5, Sonam Kapoor 4.5/5

There was much more glitz, glamour, happenings, and non-happenings during the reception of this lovely couple, but the Fashion Police feel it best to put the fashion eye to a rest. Instead, we extend our best wishes to Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput for an amazing journey of togetherness as they embark on their lives as a married couple. Congratulations to both!
