Varun Dhawan's
Badlapur released
on the 20th of this month. The lad had been out and about, braving the
cold to grace his sore eyed fans with his presence for several
promotional events. Ms. Bolly Chili aka my glorious self, with not much
else to do (luckily for her readers), kept her hawk eyes out to catch
Dhawan's every fashion faux pas - and the occasional style statement.
Read on below and get ready to sink those perfectly manicured claws.
Head
to toe in black, the Black Knight in shining armour showed up at the
Red FM studio to promote the movie alongside his co-star,
Huma Qureshi.
As much as Ms. Bolly Chili would like to prick and prod, the man seems
to have done himself well. With a tight graphic T-shirt outlining those
abs, your dear Ms. BC does not have much to complain about - a rarity
indeed. Add the gruff stubble and slightly tousled hair,
Varun Dhawan
has passed the test with an A+! I'm just not too sure of that pose.

The charmer was seen again at the
Life OK Screen Awards
dressed in a shiny royal blue jacket paired with a black formal shirt
and matching black tie. The dress pants and the shirt with the tie, Ms.
Bolly Chili approves of. The jacket however, is a different story. Trying too
hard in the fashion world is unfortunately equivalent to an indictable
offense, Mr. Dhawan. The hideous jacket is hereby sentenced to life
imprisonment. Plus, we have the pose again.

During the song launch of "Jee Karda", Dhawan
posed for the cameras dressed in a blue button-down polo shirt
underneath a navy blue jacket. This, I like. Brownie points for the grey
jeans and brown shoes. Unlike a handful of celebrities, this youngster
understands that after a certain age, playing matchy-matchy with
your wardrobe is not acceptable. On a side note, Ms. Bolly Chili truly
appreciates the rolled up sleeves of the jackets. Nice arms are not
meant to be hidden from such keen eyes. I may even forgive that pose in
this instance.

Varun Dhawan was also seen at the Gaiety Cinema in Mumbai promoting
Badlapur while also openly declaring his love for
Breaking Bad with
the Heisenberg T-shirt. Blue demins and high rise black boots to match
the shirt complete his outfit, giving off a bad boy aura. Unfortunately,
having been the victim of tolerating overused casuals sported by our
dear celebs. Ms. Bolly Chili is truly not impressed with this one.
Been there, seen that. BollyCurry Rating: 3.5/5
The
verdict? Varun Dhawan has done well - well enough to avoid the wrath of
Ms. Bolly Chili this time. However, there are vast improvements to be
made, especially with that redundant hair style. Perhaps it's time to
appoint yourself a stylist, Mr. Dhawan? Luckily, I feel more merciful
than usual, so I'll let Badlapur take centre stage for now. Until next time, Ms. Bolly Chili signs off.
