The 21st Lions Gold Awards held in Mumbai on the 6th
of January was a star studded affair. Many of Bollywood's most popular
stars graced the ceremony with their presence as well as added a few
trophies to their kitties. It was a visually spectacular night as they
all came decked up to impress. BollyCurry takes a look at some of the
most stylishly dressed of the night.
The ever gorgeous
Priyanka Chopra donned a piece from the
Theia Couture Spring
2014 collection. It was a tea-length dress featuring a plain black
boat-necked bodice and an effervescent pink pleated skirt. The vibrant
pink stood out and Chopra contrasted it with a pair of
Jimmy Choo pointed
toe pumps, gold earrings and modest make-up. Trust the woman to carry
the style with aplomb! We love the soft, romantic and feminine tone of
the dress combined with delicate make-up that added a natural elegance
to the look. We figure peep toe black pumps would have suited the dress
better, but we are not complaining! The hairdo looked gorgeous; we love
the side bun.
Prim and elegant! Rating: 4.5/5
Varun Dhawan bagged the Youth Icon of the Year Award, and rightly so! This next gen star looked youthfully
cool in
a loud graphic T-shirt, distressed jeans, casual black blazer and
matching kicks! The black hat and casual scruff made him look every inch
the modern, young cool dude he is! Dhawan exudes an irresistible charm
that just adds to his style. Rocking and Cool!
Rating: 5/5
Abhishek
Bachchan took the more traditional route. He was clicked wearing a dark
grey shirt and trousers with a black blazer, sporting black shoes and a
Best Actor in a Leading Role (Popular) Lions Award. You can't go wrong
with this! We love this look and Bachchan looks very much the handsome
gentleman. He seemed happy as such, smiling for the cameras. Handsome and Gentlemanly! Rating: 4.5/5
Daisy
Shah was the show stopper for acclaimed designer Rohit Verma. She
walked the red carpet in a bright gown complete with elaborate floral
embroidery and an overwhelming excess of red, pink, gold, and orange.
The hairdo, thankfully, was a simple and sophisticated updo; but all in
all, Shah looked completely overdone. The dress did not suit her at all
and the excessive color made her look rather dull and pale in
comparison. Sadly, the make-up is the only saving grace in this
ensemble. Colourful but a little too overdone! Rating: 2/5
Lisa
Haydon flaunted a fitted Tarun Tahiliani dress from his Bridal 2014
collection. The gold embroidered belt and collar took the black velvet
top and the draped skirt several notches up, making the dress look
stunning. She definitely made a good choice with that dress, but sadly
it's the only one. Her simple hair style comprising of a messy bun was
underwhelming and the nude make-up and heels pulled the glamour of the
dress even further down! A good outfit that could have gone several steps higher with the right styling! Rating: 3/5
