Diwali is a festival of colours, a festival of lights! It is the
festival of joy, cheer and splendor. Everything about this festival is
associated with grandeur and glory. Be it the delicacies or the
decorations, the firecrackers or the fashion, everything has spunk and
elegance. While the festival of lights has passed, the spirit of it
still lingers and it is in that spirit that today, BollyCurrry brings
you a teensy-weensy bit of glamour from our very own celebs' Diwali. The
last week was full of parties in B-Town and that is occasion enough to
introduce our readers to the five divas, who we think, dazzled this
Diwali.
First on the list is
Katrina Kaif. This babe of B-Town,
who was caught attending Diwali parties with her much rumoured beau,
Ranbir Kapoor, was spotted sporting a gorgeous Manish Malhotra
saree.
The bright orange material with the dark blue blouse was a perfect
combination of shine and subtlety. The delicate silver embroidery added
to the charm of the outfit. Katrina made sure that the effect was
perfect by accessorizing it with chunky
jhumkas and a necklace.
Next up in our list is
Priyanka Chopra. PC, it seems, was all cheers for nature, this Diwali. The beige and green
saree with
a dark green velvet blouse and leafy prints had minimal bling and yet,
created a simple ethnic look. The minimal make-up, huge earrings,
bracelet, ring and the Jimmy Choo clutch did their bit to add zing to
the ensemble. While an updo would add a graceful look, the loose flowing
tresses also work just fine for the lass.
Moving on, we have
Anushka Sharma who looked quite charming in an Abu-Sandeep
saree. The feisty colours and geometric patterns gave the
saree a vibrant look, which we believe is quite in accordance with the wearer, no? Owing to the silver and gold in the
saree, Anushka kept the accessories to a minimum and that was a right decision, we say. The
bindi and the delicate touches of make-up give Anushka the perfect 'pretty maiden' effect.
Talking
of fashion and we leave
Sonam Kapoor out? Not likely! Sonam's Diwali dress was
an earthy Anuradha Vakil outfit. Bling and brown is a combination that
works well only on certain skin tones and Sonam makes it work like a
charm on her. The heavy bangles and
kadas, the chunky earrings,
mang-tika and the
potli at the wrist, all conspire to create the complete
desi look. Oh, and let's not forget the refreshing
gajras!
And
here's yet another champion of the designer duo Abu-Sandeep. Aishwarya
Rai Bachchan looked gorgeous in a pink and silver outfit. With subtle make-up,
subtle jewellery and long flowing tresses, the Bachchan
bahu kept her looks simple, yet appealing. Well, Mama-B has a reputation to keep, after all!
With
that we come to the end of our list of stunners but we're sure there
are many others out there who could join the ranks of these. Bring on
your choices, we say! Until then BollyCurry bids a short duo only to be
back with something new very soon! Author: Tia V.
